LAURA (this text is bullshit. someone wrote it for me but needed something to fill the space)
Laura has been a trailblazer for Reading’s independent food scene. As co-founder of Pop Up Reading back in 2014, she curated a series of internationally themed supper clubs. In 2016, taking her side-hustle full-time and leaving her corporate finance day job, Laura took this idea to Nomad Bakery, a small independent café and sourdough bakery.
In 2018 Laura decided to leave Nomad and went on a soul-searching travel across Australia, Greece and Spain. At her returned she started Bench Rest - named after the critical bread making step that allows the dough to relax - under which she run a brunch & tapas bar, hosted supper clubs and sourdough classes. Her goal was to create a concept that captured those chilled Aussie vibes, love for food and allowed her to keep on her creative flame alive.
In 2019, after another visit to Sydney, Laura and her better half finally decided it was time for a change of scene, so when she tasted the waters with Anu about starting a business together the idea of FLOUR SHOP was born.
